About Us

As the husband of co-owner Deborah Farver-Plumb, I joined the University of God Team as its Chief Executive Officer, because of the importance I see in having God, and his daily teachings in all of our lives.  This lesson didn’t come easy.  Due to many life circumstances, I spent many years struggling to follow the path I knew was right and moral.  It was these choices and this lifestyle, that ultimately lead to the near disintegration of my family, and the person that deep in my heart, I knew God had created me to be. 

I attempted to salvage my life on numerous occasions, not realizing that by relying only on myself and those around me, I was always going to end up back on the same destructive path.   It wasn’t until I picked up my old Bible and began reading, that life’s pieces began to come together again. I am by no means a perfect man, but I continue to find that in following the words set out by God, I not only am experiencing an inner peace that I have not had since childhood, but the truth, that without him in this world, we are lost.

 I am grateful for that inner voice that has beckoned me for years to open my heart back up to God and his teachings.  This in combination with his grace has not only saved my soul, but has made me a much better husband, father, community member, and steward of God.  I have finally become a person that my family and community can look to on a daily basis for strength and support.

As a Co-Owner of the University of God, I am motivated to create more awareness, and change the systematic way with which our society slowly pushes God out of our daily lives.  As the parent of four small children, I am alarmed and concerned by the ease with which our country’s founding fundamental principles and values, are being stripped away without so much as a thought to the consequences it will have, or already does have on our society. 

Record breaking crime threatens our world today. Youth violence terrorizes our schools, and global fears frequent dinner table conversations.  Drug and sex trafficking persist at an all time high.  Financial stress, along with the breakdown of the family unit continues to cripple our homes.  Now more than ever we need to be running to God’s embrace, not away from him.
 
America has long been a pillar representing hope and freedom, but we have sadly forgotten a key element set forth by our founding forefathers; In ___ we trust, One nation under ___, I swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me___.

Powerful statements like these that are not worth the paper they were written on without “God” being a part of them.  We at the University of God are committed to helping churches and individuals get the word out that without God, we have no purpose in this world.  Through his grace and teachings we find faith, hope and love.
